Make this Saturday a Patriotic Day

Postby joan magnacca » Thu Aug 20, 2009 10:05 am

Hey fellow Patriots, why not make Saturday a patriotic day... After the Mary Jo Kilroy meeting at her office on Olentangy River Road to protest Obamacare, why not go to the airport that evening and welcome home some WWII veterans from their trip to see their WWII memorial?

Once again Honor Flight Columbus (www.honorflightcolumbus.org) is taking some WWII veterans to Washington to see their memorial on Saturday morning and returning Saturday evening at about 8:40 p.m. This is a very patriotic experience. The veterans are so appreciative of all the support shown as they de-plane.

Bring your flag, make a sign and come ready to sing "God Bless America" to them. Go to the Southwest gate and look for the yellow shirts (around 8: 40 p.m.).

Guaranteed to restore your faith in America. All this fun on Saturday for free! Hope to see you there.

My sincerest apologies if you went to the airport tonight for an Honor Flight arrival. They have not updated their web site and evidently there was not a flight today. From what I could gather, Southwest changed their flight schedule and the new schedule does not accommodate Honor Flight's timing. I think they are now going to charter flights and have them less often but with more veterans going at one time.

I emailed the people in charge and asked them to update their web site. I'm really sorry if you went out and no one was there.
